Well friends, my better half and I are back speaking on the topic of marriage! And not just marriage in general, rather, we’re speaking to the topic of enduring through marriage in all the different facets marriage brings. In our culture today, often times people marry under a “contractual” or conditional state of mind. I’ll stay with you as long as you do this for me, or I’m here so long as you remain the person you are in good times; but God didn’t design it that way. He designed marriage to be this sacred entity where two people become one in covenant with one another, who commit to the love of the covenant more than the circumstances that seem to overwhelm them for a season. And in becoming one, they work to understand the bigger picture of what they are fighting for in the process. What God has ordained in marriage from the beginning is an image, a reflection, a model of the type of relationship Jesus has with his Church. Although we may fall short, His love for us is enduring, steadfast, eternal, and unconditional. And that is what we are called to in marriage. Watch our part two special as David and I discuss just how we’ve put this into practice thus far in marriage.
Leave us your feedback, so we’ll know what you thought about this series! Blessings!
Xo, Bri
P.S. I’ve got several great scriptural references & book references on my blog pages titled “Bri The Woman” (singleness) and “Bri The Wife” (marriage) on subsequent pages on this site. Enjoy!
